He cited certain contemporary societal trends that he finds concerning from a religious standpoint. Specifically, he criticized the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in personal relationships, describing this technological trend as “kind of satanic” due to its role as a substitute for genuine human interaction, which he believes is essential for meaningful relationships.
Vance also recounted experiencing a sense of spiritual unease during his interactions with international leaders. He described how particular comments or discussions could trigger what he referred to as a “spiritual alarm bell,” indicating a feeling of spiritual darkness in those settings.
Additionally, the vice-president defended President Donald Trump in response to an AI-generated image that depicted Trump in a Christ-like fashion. Vance clarified that Trump did not intend to disrespect Christianity or equate himself with God. Instead, he framed the image as an attempt at humor, rather than a serious portrayal.
